- Schlettstadt, Samuel ben Araon
- (fl. 14th cent.)Al-satian rabbi. He was born in Schlettstadt and became rabbi of Strasbourg. After sentencing an informer to death, he was forced to flee from Strasbourg because of a controversy surrounding the affair. He lived in a castle near Colmar, and later wandered to Babylonia and Jerusalem, before eventually returning to Strasbourg. He wrote an abridgement of The Book of Mordecai by Mordecai ben Hillel.
